Back online after my DSL router decided to go kerflooey yesterday — and now everything is back to normal again today, which is just as perplexing.

Realized how hooked in many of us are to the Internet, and how our culture would have a pretty rough time adjusting if we suddenly lost it. Me, I receive and reply to auditions and gigs via cyberspace, not to mention online banking, shopping, connecting with family & friends, and of course all the entertainment that I wouldn’t have access to otherwise.

I joked that I might actually have to interact with people face to face! But the Internet has become so ingrained in our daily lives, how do you think you’d cope if one day it just wasn’t there?

Cold is relative

HOW I CAN TELL IT’S WINTER IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA: Have to turn on space heater in the evening to take the edge off; can no longer sleep with windows open all night.

HOW I USED TO BE ABLE TO TELL IT WAS WINTER WHEN I LIVED IN WISCONSIN: Icicles finally large enough to use in snowmobile jousting matches.
