Zombie Apocalypse Hits Wisconsin!

A little over two years ago, just before Halloween, a buddy of mine (@DacBeerpig) began a Twitter experiment. It was an idea loosely inspired by Orson Welles’ War of the Worlds radio play, except this time involving not aliens, but zombies.

He created several Twitter accounts, each starting out with the normal sort of posts you’d expect to see from your average Twitter user. Then all hell broke loose, as an undead contagion started sweeping through the area.

He continues to tweet as @WausauLoner — over 8,600 posts so far — recounting his daily struggle to survive in a world overrun by zombies. It’s really good stuff, and I’d say that even if I didn’t know the guy. Sometimes heart-pounding, sometimes funny, sometimes very dark, but always interesting.

His local news just did a story on his story. From his recent tweet:

If you weren’t able to watch @acarrera_waow’s piece on my @WausauLoner story when it aired on @WAOW, the video is here.
